The Founders of LyWal Enterprises
Rev. Dr. Bruce is a minister of the Christian Gospel and holds a doctorate in clinical psychology. Dr. Bruce comes to the United States from Guyana, South America where he was born, and gained early schooling. Before immigrating, Dr. Bruce had been a teacher and principal. After arriving in the United States, he gained US citizenship, earned his doctorate, and alongside his preaching and teaching ministries sold life, property and casualty insurance for over 10 years. He retired in the 90’s after a brief return to teaching in a Christian High School. Retail is no stranger to him, having been one of the ways he financed his university education in the USA. Dr. Bruce also won awards in direct selling of such products as the Rainbow home cleaner and Stuart McGuire shoes.
Edia Stanford-Bruce is a writer, storyteller, artist, and singer of traditional African-American spiritual music. A native of Norfolk, Virginia, she was educated in its school system. She holds the Bachelors of Arts in Journalism from Norfolk State University and the Masters of Education in early childhood education from Rutgers, University, New Brunswick, NJ.. The romance with retailing began quite innocently after high school with a sales associate summer ob in a millinery shop working on staff beside her mom. It was spurred on by concentration in public relations and advertising in college. Having sold a variety of merchandise from health food to Christmas crafts, the LyWal venture seemed to be only the next logical step.
